PALM SUNDAY
Well, here we are again for the 4th time. Back in Miami as the 5th segment of this World (Caribbean) Cruise begins at 10pm when we set sail again for the last 25 days.
We brought this to decorate our door for the holiday next Sunday.LAST NIGHT:
We enjoyed dinner in Sette Mari last night. L to R: Gilbert (maitre'd), the chef, Analiza (asst waitress), and Dara (waitress).
Joeydeep, sommelier, presenting my Cline zinfandel.
My huge veal parmesan with side of spaghetti. No way could eat even half of it. Rebecca enjoy a pasta.
Beatles Dance Party in Horizon Lounge. Rebecca enjoyed dancing. I did my token slow dance with her.
TODAY:
Views of Miami skyline from the ship.
We met in Horizon Lounge at 8:50 to be escorted into the terminal for US Customs inspection. It was actually 9:20 when we went in as had to wait of a couple to show up in the lounge. The inspection went very fast however and we were back on board around 9:40.
Rebecca changed and went to the gym but not me. I was trying to decide if I wanted to take a taxi to the CVS pharmacy nearby. At 11am I left the ship and grabbed a taxi. The nice black lady driver said she would take me there for $10. It was a yellow cab and the meter was off so I figured she wanted to pocket the money herself. One the way I asked if she would wait and take me back to the ship for another $10. I just needed on quick to get item and she agreed to wait. I was back on board a half hour later.
Noticed this sitting out on the gangway. They said it was crew orders. I suppose from Amazon. At 12:01 we had to resign in to the ship's internet which I did on our cell phones while at lunch in La Veranda.
This huge thing must have come from a dinosaur but they insisted it was beef. Like to know how much it weighed. No way this all would be consumed at lunch time.Dara, one of our favorite waitresses.
La Veranda and Sette Mari chef, Seigfred, from the Philippines.
This afternoon I sat out on the balcony reading and working crossword puzzles as it was a super nice day. They want to wash down our balcony but I told them no. Too nice for me not sitting out.
Will probably watch the end of The Masters.
Our Palm Sunday worship service will be at 6pm this evening, cutting into my normal bar time. Our service is usually only 15 to 20 minutes long however. From there Marcia and us will head directly to the Horizon Lounge to meet the Hermanns (David & Melody) for pre-dinner cocktails. As I mentioned, they are boarding today for our last segment since their Navigator cruise cancelled. They just became "Diamond" status (over 1000 nights on Regent) end of last year. We have cruised with them several times. The 5 of us have 7pm dinner reservations in Prime 7. Bad timing to be going to Prime 7 as there is a Tex-Mex dinner at the pool grill. Would have liked to do that. We can always make a special order for Tex-Mex dinner to be served to us in Compass Rose.
No real entertainment tonight except for another movie no one has heard of in the theater at 9pm. At 9:30 to 10:15 there is a sail-away under the stars up on deck 12 with the production singers and orchestra. I may check that out. We will be arriving at 7am tomorrow at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Not a place we like. Supposed to go to Key West instead but for some reason they changed it.
