Our position at noon today is still off the coast of Columbia and approaching abeam the Gulf of Venezuela on our way to Curacao.  It is 79 degrees and very windy (26 knots/30 mph).
Because of the wind we are experiencing some ship movement today.

LAST NIGHT:

                                                  Interdenominational worship service
                                                           Another sunset in Cartagena
                                                              Dinner in Prime 7
My dinner.  Meat was tough again.
Rebecca had crab legs (they had removed the crab meat for her).  Very good.
Of course, I had the popcorn sundae.
Neil, the Prime 7 maitre 'd

Crystal Cashmore's pre-dinner show was fantastic.  Captain chose to leave early and the bow thrusters covered up the first 15 minutes of her show.

TODAY:

The spa/gym is in forward part of the ship on deck 7, same deck our suite is on but we are midship. This morning while on the treadmill I was looking out the windows and during my hour on the treadmill I saw thousands and thousands of very little flying fish getting out of the ship's way.  These fish were an inch or two long and flew from a foot to 15 feet very close to the water.
Lazy day at sea today.  At 6pm this evening there will be the Seven Seas Society cocktail party in the theater.  Tonight's dress is formal optional so I will be wearing my tux and Rebecca one of her St John's outfits.  We love getting all dressed up.  Our very favorite entree, miso glazed seabass, will be served in Compass Rose tonight.
Tonight's headliner entertainer is a comedian, Paul Adams.  We have never seen him before so probably be sitting in back of the theater in case we need to make an early departure.
I will not have a tour in Curacao tomorrow so may just walk into town.  We were here on February 1st so did the trolley tour of the city already.  We will be overnighting in Curacao and do have a tour on Wednesday morning.
Big day tomorrow as the mandatory wearing of masks on board will be dropped.  Also tomorrow some crew members will be leaving the ship.  Some going to Voyager as it is ginning up to cruise again.  Some going home for a month vacation so that when they return their contracts will be 9 to 10 months long.  Basically, the ship was crewed at one time so Regent did not want them all going back on vacation at one time.

LAST NIGHT:

Got a nice photo of sun setting behind the city.

Crispy vegetable tart on thin puff pastry for my appetizer.
Also some seafood risotto to start with.
Our entrees were braised veal shank with gremolata (osso bucco) with some creamy polenta.
Chocolate truffle dome with raspberry jelly inside it.  Very yummy dessert
Ruben's show was very interesting as he did the whole show in mime (did not speak one word the whole show).  Some great magic/illusions.

TODAY:

                                                                    My tour today
This was the little tour bus which was full.
It was terrible!!!  There was maybe 6 inches leg room so I had to sit like this for over 2 hours.  I almost got right back off the bus before we departed and should have.  I wanted to get some photos for this blog post however.
                                                                     Our tour guide.

Statue in front of the San Felipe fortress.

                                                           Fortress San Felipe

There is a wall around the old part of the city from the fortress.

Very narrow streets in old town.

                                                                        Old theater
Black dot-like things is what our guide called "nipples".  The more nipples there are on the door indicated how rich you were back then.

Driving along the beach but I was on the wrong side to get photos.  Lots of people on the beach as it is Sunday.
                                                              Oldest hotel here now
This area is where the rich people live now.  Nice view of the Bay of Cartagena

                                                                Our ship across the bay.

Cartagena is know for this clock tower.

Neat narrow street with umbrellas hanging above it.
Dog was not dead as I saw its eyes move.  Everyone just walked around it.

Crossing a bridge with the fortress in the distance.
Some police.  One came and talked briefly with our driver then walked around and stepped into our bus.  Not sure what that was all about but he seemed friendly.

                                                             Another little fortress.

A cannon would sit there and fire at enemies.

                                                          Inside the small fortress.

Back at the cruise terminal there is a nice aviary.

I was back onboard at 11:20 and started adding these photos to the blog.  Continued this process after we got back from lunch in La Veranda.  It is a warm, sunny day with temperature at 90 degrees.

"Filler up"!!  Bunkering fuel today right below our balcony.

It is pleasant out on the balcony this afternoon as there is a nice breeze.  When the bunkering is finished I am going to sit out there and work on a crossword puzzle.  Or I may go to the gym later.
Tonight's show is an early one at 6:15.  We don't care for the early show time.  Show is featuring Crystal Cashmore, one of the production cast singers.  So we will get ready for the evening early as we will be going to the interdenominational worship service at 5:30.  Hit the bar for a quicky before going to the theater for the early show.
We have 7pm reservation in Prime 7 with Marcia tonight.  They are showing a movie in the theater at 9:15.  We will not go.
Mariner will be sailing again at 7pm and it will be a sea day tomorrow before arriving at Curacao on Tuesday morning.

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
