Yes, I am still here!!!  Since yesterday we have sailed past Honduras and Guatemala and are at noon today, off the coast of Mexico.  Smooth sailing until about 9:30 this morning when the wind picked up to 40+ knots.  I decided to shower and put my wrist bands and patch on.  Believe me, last thing now I need is to be seasick.  Wind the afternoon is way down to 8 knots so our ride has improved.  82 degrees.

LAST NIGHT:

I started out with my "exciting" evening in captivity with my private cocktail hour.  I had Rebecca to talk to one of the head waiters at noon yesterday and request just two jalapeno popper delivered at 6pm.  Well, apparently they do not know how to count as they brought six.  LOL  So I also had my chips from lunch and a Woodford Reserve Manhattan to wash is down with.
At 7pm I ordered dinner.  I did not care for any of the Compass Rose entrees so just ordered a burger and a Creme Brulee.  I asked the burger to be cooked medium but it was well done.  So not to good but I had plenty to eat.  I was pretty tired from not sleeping very well the first night so lights out was 9pm.

I got a disturbing email yesterday evening from Joan Davis saying that 30 minutes before they were to go down for Charlie's big birthday bash that he had just tested positive for covid.  We have known Joan & Charlie for a long time.  They will also be going on our safari with us on next year's world cruise.  Charlie gave me a call later and we had a nice chat.  They are in a big two room suite so he can isolated there with Joan in the other room.  He has mild symptoms also.

TODAY:

Another so-so night's sleep.  I have been having draining so had a sore throat.  Thankfully, Rebecca had dropped off some Motrin which helped.  I asked her to drop off some Mucinex DM this morning so hope that will help.  We bring all kinds of drugs with us on cruises.  I just took the last two pills of the Z-pac after lunch.
I gave Rebecca a call just before 8am and she did not sound well.  But said she had just woke up and her throat needed clearing so would call me back.  Sounded normal when she did so that's when I asked her to deliver some Mucinex.  Later she called to say the med tech showed up at 8:30 on the dot to administer her antigen test.  Thank the Lord, 10 minutes later they called her to say "negative".  So she could trot off for the treadmill.
I ordered a cheese omelet with sausage.  It was getting rougher outside so decided I better shower so I could practice "safe cruising" as I mentioned above.  I got an email from Jeff, our son, who said I should watch some Amazon movies and suggested some.  Well, the "included (so-called free)" internet is not fast enough for watching online movies.  There is a premium internet with fast enough speed which is $10 extra per day.  So I called Rebecca and sent her down to have Roger, internet guru, call me.  Within a few minutes he called and helped me get set up.  So now I am watching the Amazon series, "Outer Range".  It is a bit strange.  Don't know what I would do if Rebecca could not run all my errands and bring me things.
I got a disturbing email from Burt Schraga saying the ship had run out of Makers Mark bourbon.  I still have an unopened bottle of it here in the suite with me so I am in good shape.  I asked Rebecca to ask when we will get more MM when she went up for lunch.  Not heard back yet.  I'm thinking it may not be until we get to San Diego on Sunday.
I want to be able to sit out on my balcony while in Acapulco tomorrow but it is very "salty" out there after salty air had been depositing salt for last few days and will need cleaning.  So I spoke with Clifford, asst head housekeeper, on the phone a few minutes ago and asked it be clean tomorrow morning.  He said someone would be here to clean it plus the suite before 9am.  Great service!!
On one of our several phone conversations I jested to Rebecca she bring my tuxedo for me to wear in the suite since it is formal optional dress tonight.  Now that would be a Regent first!!  No burger tonight as miso seabass (our Regent favorite) is on the menu.
As for how I feel, still stuffy with drainage causing a sore throat.  Wish I could get rid of it.  Appetite coming back however.  Not as depressed today as getting settled in to my new "world cruise event".
My first meal here was breakfast Monday morning.  It was served on paper plate, plastic ware, paper napkin, and styrofoam cup for the coffee.  I was not looking forward to meals served that way as reminded my of our pre-cruise Gala box dinner we ate in the hotel room.  Marcia's favorite way to dine!!  Well, thankfully since that meal all the rest have been on china plates, silverware, cloth napkins.
Someone from medical called me this morning to see how I was doing.  He said he would be stopping by this afternoon to check my vitals but not shown up yet at 3:20.  I am going ahead and publish this as know some of you are interested to see how we are doing.
We will be docking in Acapulco tomorrow by 7am.  Once you have seen the cliff divers not much else of interest.  More tomorrow and praying more good news with Rebecca's test.
