Here we are at noon today. During the Captain's noon PA he said we would be passing 40 miles abeam San Francisco around 3:30pm which is half way to Astoria. It is 54 degrees with sunny skies but the wind is 37 knots but we are sailing directly into the wind so it is really over 50 knots if you were up on deck now. The upper deck is closed again today however. The seas are 10 foot waves because of this wind and it is pretty rough on board. He said the sea state would improve tomorrow as we will still be at sea tomorrow. In the distance you can see the cruise ship that went by opposite direction this morning.LAST NIGHT:
Last night I started with this Ceasar salad. I asked for the dressing on the side because sometimes they put too much dressing on it. Also I asked for 5 anchovies and parmesan cheese.
For my entree I had this farfalle pasta with tomato sauce and shrimp.
Oink, I had two grand mariner souffles with vanilla sauce. For my entree I had this farfalle pasta with tomato sauce and shrimp.
Ok, besides the souffles, I had a apple strawberry basket with butter pecan ice cream.
TODAY:
Up at 7am. They tested me at 7:45 but took an hour before she called with my results. I am perfect: 5 days of testing and 5 positive test results. So she told me that she would be calling me at 8am tomorrow (Wed) and releasing me. So I am now counting the hours! I will have to wear a mask for several more days when out of our suite except when drinking or eating of course.
Hamburger and fries for my lunch. The burger was cooked medium this time just the way I ordered it. Apparently there are now 11 or 12 covid cases on board. This not the way we all wanted to end the world cruise. Normally the last couple of weeks everyone is dining with friends before it ends. Now we have to be careful.
I have started watching an Amazon series called "Get Shorty". Will watch some more episodes of it this afternoon. Well, very slow download so no can do.
Tomorrow's blog will be composed and published from suite 731 (our normal suite). I am counting the hours now. Another day at sea tomorrow which I will call, "Freedom Day".
