DAY 106---AT SEA

Our position at noon is offshore Mexico just abeam of Puerto Vallarta on our way up to Cabo San Lucas.  Despite the Atlantic Ocean being very smooth today our Captain said on his noon PA that it may be very rough Friday night and Saturday.  So we will depart Cabo an hour earlier tomorrow afternoon so he can reduce speed enroute to San Diego and give us a better ride.

LAST NIGHT:

During the evening I had a beautiful view of the Mexican coast.  Wish our heading was a little more to the west so I could get a good view of the sun setting.  This is the best I can get.

        Ok, this is the veal parmesan with spaghetti they brought me precisely at 7pm.  Looks great and the veal is huge.  Problem is I could tell immediately that the veal parm came from the kitchen in Compass Rose NOT from Sette Mari.  How?  By the cheese.  Rebecca had requested YESTERDAY for a special Sette Mari veal parm be sent to me.  She confirmed this at noon today with the maitr'd of Sette Mari.  It was hot when it arrived! 

        So I called room service to say I knew this came from Compass Rose NOT Sette Mari.  He said he would check it out.  Later I got a call from Gilbert, head waiter in charge of special orders.  He said veal parm was not on tonight's Sette Mari menu and I explained Rebecca had made a "special order" with Alin yesterday and confirmed at noon today.  Well, too late to do anything about it.  I enjoyed the spaghetti and a few bites of the veal.  I told Gilbert I would call later for a dessert.  I am really not upset as I had plenty to eat and the service has been outstanding.  Stuff happens!!  My apple buckle with chocolate ice cream was delish!!

TODAY:

        Opened the curtains shortly after 7am to find a almost lake-like ocean.  Smooth sailing last night and looks like it again today.  Temperature this morning a lovely 74 degrees.  My balcony is mostly sunny this morning but may get out there this afternoon.

        I slept well last night except of a coughing spell middle of the night that lasted for a half hour or so.  No sore throat last night which is good.  Getting back to normal.  I will be tested tomorrow and Saturday.  I have to have two negative tests in a row before being released.  Looks like tomorrow is big day for me as has to be negative if I am to have a chance of being released Saturday sometime.

        GREAT NEWS is Rebecca still tested negative this morning.  No more testing her each morning now.  She was told to wear a mask and avoid groups which is what she has been doing since Sunday evening.  I know I will have to wear a mask when I get released.

        This afternoon I am having internet problems.  I called down to Reception who called the internet manager.  He said there is some ship's issues which is being addressed.  Seems Google Mail now not working for me.  Hope that gets solved soon.  I wanted to put a photo of my club sandwich with fries on the blog but can't upload it.  Amazingly, the french fries were actually hot from room service.  Good deal.

        Ok, so turkey is on the menu tonight and you know my previous issues with their idea of what turkey gravy is.  Don't care for any of the other entree choices.  So I had Rebecca request some pan fried panko crusted jumbo shrimp for my entree tonight.  Also more Happy Hour pigs in a blanket for 6pm.  

        I'm disappointed that I will be missing a second of the production shows tonight, "Tuxedo".
