Our position today is docked in Costa Maya, Mexico.  Yes, the second time we've been here on this cruise.  I'll add the port info again for you.

COSTA MAYA BACKGROUND INFO

Costa Maya is a small tourist region in the state of Quinta Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula just 130 miles south of Cozumel.  It is close to Chetumal the capital of Quinta Roo which is on the border with Belize.  Less that 1000 residents live here.
It is the closest port of access to many of the lesser known Mayan ruins.  Some of the ship’s excursions will be visiting a couple of these ruins.  There is a new and modern shopping mall in Costa Maya but the nice beaches are located at Mahahual just to the south.  Since a large pier was built, now many cruise ships stop here.

LAST NIGHT:

Here are some photos I took last evening as we departed Cozumel.

They had a Tex Mex buffet at the pool grill last evening.  Here is some refried beans, Mexican rice, mashed sweet potatoes, and pinto beans.
                                                                          Tacos
                                                               Chicken enchiladas
I asked if I could go up and bring some of the Mexican food down to our table in Compass Rose.  Mario said he would check.  He came back with the Mexican buffet menu and asked what I wanted as they would go up and get it for me.  I ordered the tacos above to start with.  Then the chicken enchiladas with refried beans as my main course.  As usual too much food!  But good.

Yesterday we asked for these panko fried prawns as a special order.  Rebecca had some of them instead of the Mexican food.
As we left the dining room we ran into our good friends Joan & Charlie Davis.  They had had dinner with Massimo, our General Manager, and Paul (photo bombing), our cruise director.
Decorations as you enter the theater for the Academy Awards being shown there on the big screen.

Decorations inside the theater.  We did not stay.

TODAY:

When Rebecca opened the balcony curtains this morning this mammoth cruise ship was next to us.  It is Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas.  Just two years old and has a maximum passenger load of  6700 and a crew of 2200.  She cost $1.35 billion to build.  It's a city not a cruise ship!!!  I watched the passengers (with MANY kids) pour off her 3 gangways.  Two of the gangways were double wide.  She has 18 life boats at least twice the size as ours.  It has a kids water park, full sized basketball court, ice skating rink, zipline, 2 rock climbing walls, and an outdoor aquatic theater.  There is also a park containing 20,000 tropical plants.
At 1230 the Carnival Valor cruise ship pulled in.
She has 3000 guests and 1200 crew members
Long walk on the pier to go ashore..
I am still not feeling quite right ever since I ran into the glass door on Friday morning in the gym.  Several of our friends and the ship's General Manager say I should go see the ship's doctor so I called this morning to make an appointment.  Earliest I could get was 4pm.  Only thing she found was I had high BP.  I told her it is always high when I am at at doctor's office.  She ordered an EKG and it was completely normal.  I am to go daily to have my BP checked.  If it stays high she will put me on another BP med.  I already take one.  Then the security officer gave me forms to fill out and had me show him the door in the gym I hit.  All this is CYA for Regent.

At 7pm this evening they are having another special wine dinner in Chartreuse.  We are signed up to go at a cost of $169 each.  Here is the menu with the wine pairings for each course.  I'm sure you will have to click on it so you can read it.
We will be at a table with Joan & Charlie Davis and Marcia at the dinner.  We hear there are 54 guests signed up for the dinner.

We are not able to get any of the news channels today.  I believe it is because the RCL ship is to tall right next to us that it is blocking our ship's satellite receiver.
Tonight's headliner entertainer at 9:15 in the theater is a singer, Camila Andrade.  I believe she is Brazilian.  I doubt our wine dinner will be over in time for us to catch her show.  Have to wait and see.
We will be sailing at 7pm for our next port, at Harvest Caye off the coast of Belize.  Yes, we were here also back on February 20th.  We'll be docked there by 9am tomorrow.

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
