Our position at noon today was cruising in the Gulf of Mexico heading to Progreso, Mexico.  Skies are sunny and seas smooth today.  Temperature 75 degrees.

LAST NIGHT:

This is an oil platform museum in Galveston as we sailed away.
As we sailed there we probably 50 tanker ships anchored off the coast.
Mario was our waiter in Compass Rose.  His birthday was yesterday.
I did not care for this appetizer.  Crepe with Buffalo mozzarella, smoked ham, goat cheese cream.
I ran into Douglas, the F&B, when I was at Reception at 5:30pm.  I asked if I could get some fried oysters for dinner.  Normally you need to make special requests the day before.  He called the chef and sure enough I got the oysters.  Still a little too heavy on the breading.  For dessert I had Bavarian cheesecake.

We liked Greg's show.  Amazing guitarist.
TODAY:

I went to the gym earlier this morning since there was an 11am World Cruise celebration in the Horizon Lounge for all the world cruisers.  I did not notice the glass doors to the aerobics room were closed and I was heading in there to use a treadmill.  I walked right into the doors hard.  Luckily I did not break my glasses.  I did not knock myself out but was stunned.  I went in and asked Tanaya if my forehead was bleeding.  She said no.  Probably should not have but I did spend an hour on the treadmill.  I figured I would have black eyes.  After showering I went down to tell William, the Executive Concierge, what had happened and suggested they put a decal on the glass so it would be more obvious when the doors were closed.  He asked if I needed to see medical.  At the time I was ok.  After getting back to the suite I got a call from medical asking if I had any symptoms and was ok.  I said I was ok and went to the special event.  The GM asked how I was doing as he was advised about my incident.  So I am resting this afternoon as do not feel 100%.  I took a couple Motrin and will lie down.
Everyone was greeted as we entered the lounge by Captain and all the senior officers.  This is the lovely ice carving and display.
The lounge was packed with the 80 or so world cruisers.  We were served drinks and canapes by the waiters.
This is our Captain, Aivo Palm, addressing us.  He was quite a funny guy and very tall.

The table art was really nice.  We were also entertained as the Social Hostess sang a few songs with Paul, cruise director, accompanying here on the piano.
I left right after that as was not feeling like chatting.  Went back later to collect Rebecca so we could go up for a little lunch while the girls cleaned our suite.  After lunch I took a couple Motrins and will lie down after finishing this post.
Hopefully I'll feel better later.  I have a couple discolored eye now.  After dinner the new headliner entertainer for tonight will be a singer, Karl Loxly.

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
