Nice sunset
Comedian, Kevin Davane, in the Horizon Lounge. He was great.
TODAY:
Mobile visitors center just outside the pier gate when going into the downtown area which is just across the street. Our Houston friends, Steve and Sydney Uthoff, picked the three of us up at the pier and we had coffees at the Tremont House hotel just a could of blocks from the pier. We had a wonderful time talking and catching up with them. Sydney & Steve spent last night in this hotel. We came back to the ship afterwards but Marcia went with them to do some shopping and sightseeing.
This is the old restored rosewood bar in the hotel that Frenchman, Henry Toujouse, hand craver back in the 1800's. The hotel is leasing the bar for $1 a month from the Galveston Historical Foundation. Rebecca had some of my water instead of coffee.
Fisherman's Wharf restaurant just in front of us.
Rugs out to dry.Window washing today
Washing Observation Lounge windows
Looking down the pier behind the ship. We are the only cruise ship in port today.Downtown from deck 12
What's in front of the ship. These ocean oil drilling platforms sitting in the bay. They can float these out into the Gulf of Mexico to drill wells.
Rebecca and I walked back to the ship at 10:30. After lunch we went to the gym but only two operating treadmills today and one was already in use so I went up and walked 3 miles on deck 12.
I sat out for awhile this afternoon on our balcony.
Steve & Sydney brought me the bitters I had Amazon send to their address. Love the Woodford spiced cherry bitters in my Manhattans. They have kept the bottle I brought with me in the lounge but it is nearly empty. Now I have some more which will easily last until we get back home.
Cocktails in Horizon Lounge at 6pm with dinner in Compass Rose to follow. We are to sail at 7pm so may watch the sail out from the lounge before going to dinner. We have a new headliner entertainer, Greg Rodman, who will perform in the theater at 9:15. His bio says he is a guitarist.
We have another sea day tomorrow enroute to Progreso, Mexico. We were there on February 16th. I hope the Gulf is smoother tonight and tomorrow. Mexico does not go on daylight savings time so our clocks will be moved back an hour tonight at 2am.
