Our position today is back on the island of St Lucia where we were back on February 6th & 7th.  I'm putting the background info back on this post.  It is 84 degrees this afternoon.

ST LUCIA BACKGROUND INFO
St Lucia is an island country in the West Indies with a population of 185,000.  This volcanic formed island is 27 miles long and 14 miles wide and is more mountainous than most Caribbean islands.  The highest mountain is 3,120 feet with forest covering 77% of the land.  Castries, where we are docked, is its capital with 60,000 (32%) living in the city.  Most of the other citizens live along the coast because of the dense forests inland.  The French and English have ruled St Lucia but it is now an independent state since 1979.
The economy’s service sector is its biggest driver followed by industry and agriculture.  Tourism is also vital to its economy.  The island is popular due to its tropical weather, scenery, beaches, and resorts.  A majority of its tourists are cruise ship folks.  Pre-covid there were around 330 ships calling here per year.

LAST NIGHT:

                                                              Really nice sunset.
Yesterday in Sette Mari I enjoyed an Argentine Malbec.  Tonight I enjoyed this Chilean Carmenere.
We both had a Caesar salad to start with then I had this fole gras appetizer.
My prime rib was perfectly cooked and quite good.
Rebecca chose this lemon-thyme marinated tiger shrimp with basmati rice.  She loves this.
For my dessert I had this banana & macadamia nut pudding with ice cream.  Very yummy.
Some photos of "Divos & Divas" production show.  EXCELLENT SHOW!

Peggy, Millie, and Malcolm.  All three are Commodores (over 2000 nights on Regent)

TODAY:

Photos taken from deck 12 again.  I opted not to go on my tour today.  We were advised that St Lucia authorities require masks be worn on tours which I totally agree with and appreciate.  Unfortunately, several passengers do not wear masks on the buses or wear them incorrectly.  The buses are small so I am uncomfortable on them.  Safer to just stay on board.  We have had several short rain showers pass over today.  One very hard and people at gangway got soaked as they were trying to get a couple wheel chair passengers back up the gangway. I was on our balcony watching it.  Wind was blowing hard and most of the umbrellas blown.

I did walk off the ship to check out the mall just off the pier.  Several of the crew were there utilizing the free internet.  Shops not that great so right back on board after a few minutes.  I have enjoyed sitting out on our balcony this morning and again after lunch.
We will be having cocktails and dinner this evening with Susanne Peters in Compass Rose.  At 9:30 Fred Bevill, a comedian, will have a show in the Horizon Lounge.  We plan to attend.  Nothing in the theater tonight.
We will be sailing again at 6pm for Roseau on the island of Dominica.  Our arrival will be 8am tomorrow.  Another return visit as was here on February 8th.

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
