LAST NIGHT:

Since I was left out of the dinner photo with Jason last night he posed for another one last evening as he was passing through the Mariner Lounge.  Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Joseph was our waiter in Compass Rose.
I started with the Alaskan crab & avocado salad.  Rebecca enjoyed a shrimp cocktail.
I told them this was too good looking to eat.  It is fole gras ravioli with passion fruit sauce and a chipotle glaze.
My entree was this salmon filet (medium rare) and garlic mashed potatoes with some bourbon glazed carrots.  Rebecca chose the wiener schnitzel.  Mine was better!
                                                                    Wiener Schnitzel
Couldn't resist this apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

TODAY:

Well, here we are back at the Port of Miami on Super Bowl Sunday!!  It is a yucky day in Miami with rain.  A cold front has passed through since I first walked out on our balcony at 7am after just getting up.  It was warm then but that changed since then and it is now 64 degrees.  It was cold last time we were here on January 23rd also.
The in transit passengers all had to meet at 8:45 in the Horizon Lounge to be escorted off the ship so as to clear with Customs & Border Protection officers.  After we had our passports checked by them we had to wait in this terminal room until all passengers had been checked and the ship cleared.  Not a long wait as I was first one to go back on board at 9:50.  Rebecca went to do her treadmill time but I am working on this post.  I went to do treadmill in the afternoon.  While on the treadmill our good friend, Marge Goddard and her friend, Judy, came in the gym.  They just came on board today.

                                                   Drug sniffing dog checking provisions.

Today was a big provisioning day.  At first they were taking the supplies directly from the trucks to the ship but later was stacking the pallets on the pier to be loaded.  This resupplying of the ship went on all day.  I will try to give you an idea of what was onloaded on a future blog post. On the opposite side of the ship they are bunkering (fueling the ship).
NEWS FLASH:  Another step to normalcy today.  The crew is being allowed to go ashore!!  There is nothing in the terminal except free wifi.  They love that.  I had a nice chat with two of the production cast singer at the entrance of the theater (they are assisting with the new guests checking in).  They said the crew can go anywhere they want.  I told them there was not Walmart close by but they said there was a CVS Pharmacy and some shopping nearby.  They were really excited and said they had their clothes laid out on their beds ready to change and run ashore as soon as their duties were complete.  All crew have to be back on board by 3pm.
                                                   Downtown Miami from deck 12.

We got some fresh flowers today for our suite.
We will be sailing at 5pm today which is earlier than normal.  They are doing it so we can see the beginning of the Super Bowl.  In order to show it on board the ship has to be back out in international water which is at least 12 miles offshore.
It will be shown on the big screen in the theater and also broadcast on the suite's tvs.  Kickoff is at 6:30 so they will open the doors to the theater at 6pm.  There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken wings, pizza, salads, other foods and desserts.  Of course booze and soft drinks will be served.  Rebecca and I will be clad in our Dallas Cowboys shirts.  We are cheering for the Bengals tonight.  Sorry, Rams fans!
Our first port of call will be Key West, Florida, tomorrow from 9am to 6pm.  I have a 2 1/2 hour "Discover Key West" excursion scheduled for 9:30.  Forecast is calling for sunny and high in mid 60's.

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
