DAY 30---BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS-DAY 2

NOW TO VIEW MY JANUARY POSTS YOU WILL HAVE TO CLICK ON "JANUARY" SO THOSE POSTS WILL BE DISPLAYED.

TO VIEW PREVIOUS POSTINGS USE THE "BLOG ARCHIVE" UNDER OUR PHOTO ON THE RIGHT.  THEN CLICK ON THE DAY OR DAYS YOU MISSED.  ALSO CLICKING ON THE PHOTOS WILL ENLARGE THEM.  I RECOMMEND THAT.

LAST NIGHT:

In Prime 7 I asked the chef to select two of the most marbled (fat strands throughout the meat) NY strip steaks and two marbled bone-in ribeyes to the table so I could select the best.  I picked a New York strip and Marcia selected the other one.  Rebecca chose a pork chop for her entree.  Our steaks were very good but Rebecca had to send her overcooked pork chop back.  Think I mentioned earlier they tend to overcook all fish and meats.
I enjoyed a crab cake as my appetizer.  Full of real crab meat.  Delicious!!

Here are some photos I took at the production cast show, "Tuxedo".  I really suggest you click on them to make them large.  Excellent cast of 12 singers and dancers.

TODAY:

Sorry but I decided not to go on my "Discover Barbados" tour this morning.  Weather is iffy with passing rain showers.  After our treadmill time, I did take a shuttle to the cruise terminal and it started raining lightly just as the shuttle arrived there.  I opted to take the above photo and run back to the ship. There were many other people going into the terminal from the three other cruise ships in port pictured below.  To be safe from covid, I did not want to be near them.
Royal Caribbean's "Explorer of the Seas".  We have sailed on her before.  Too big!
                                                            Celebrity's "Equinox".
                                                              P & O's "Azura"
There is another cruise ship heading this way this afternoon.  It seems to be sitting about a mile offshore waiting for someone to leave as all the docks are occupied.  Remember I had a photo of Cunard's "Queen Victoria" on yesterday's post.  Well last night I learned it is under contract to be a covid holding ship until the end of March.  By that I mean, Carnival Cruises is isolating their new crew members on it before allowed to go to work on their ships.  Also, Barbados has no facilities for their citizens who may come down with covid.  So they are put on this ship to be treated, recover, and quarantined.  She was moved off the pier to make room for other cruise ships and is now anchored out in the harbor.
This goose was at the carving station in La Veranda at lunch time.  I went back later to try it but it looked very dry and not very appetizing so passed on it.

We will be departing Barbados this evening at 7pm and setting a southwesterly course for the island of Granada.  It will be a slow sail tonight as it is only about 150 miles from here.  We are to be docked there by 8am.  I have a 4 hour tour scheduled for 8:40.  So far planning to go on it.
Cocktails planned at 6pm this evening in the Mariner Lounge.  Just the two of us tonight.  Dinner in Compass Rose.  Tonight's headliner entertainer in the theater at 9:30 is the Scottish soprano, Elaine Gray.  We will be there for her show.
As an interesting note, one of the La Veranda chefs passed by us yesterday and I told him he was making me fat.  His response, "my pleasure"!!

HOMEWARD BOUND

LAST NIGHT We had cocktails in the Mariner Lounge with Marcia, Burt, Richard, Harvey, and Gudrun (sales consultant).  Then up to Sette Mar...
