LAST NIGHT:
Dinner last night with Jason Montague, President & CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Also with us are Patti Bloom (other side of Jason) and Mary Pat & Jay Silberman. I was left out of the photo. That sucks! Guess I will have to tell Jason we need to dine with him again. LOL I had this NY strip steak. Not as good as last one I had. Rebecca had a filet.
Marcia sent me these two green beans to pay me back for sending her one bean at a previous dinner. She was dining at the next table with Joan & Charlie Davis. Manhattan and glass of wine with "pigs in a blanket" before dinner.
TODAY:
This morning between 8 and 11am they were administering covid antigen tests to all passengers in the Horizon Lounge for our arrival tomorrow in Miami. Even those staying on board for the next segment were tested.
The line was not very long and wait was about 15 minutes. The Crystal passengers we just picked up had to be registered with Eurofins who is doing the testing and emailing the results. We were registered prior to boarding in San Francisco.First step is checking in and getting the two stick ons that will be used to identify our tests vials.
Very nice nurse who will be testing us with the nasal swab.
Testing station.
We were told to go back to our suites and wait there for a phone call with our test results. Sure enough they called in about 20 minutes with our results---BOTH OF US WERE NEGATIVE. Not surprised.
American BBQ lunch was the theme today at the pool grill.Porchetta Pork Roast was at the carving station in La Veranda today. I made a big Caesar salad and ordered some Buffalo wings from the pool grill for my lunch.
Tomorrow will be the end of the second segment of our 4 month long world cruise (now Caribbean cruise) when we arrive in Miami. Several of our friends will be leaving us tomorrow but some other friends will be boarding. Once again we will have to go clear Customs & Border Protection in the cruise terminal. Everyone will have to clear before anyone can reboard. They told me that there will be 198 passengers on our next 31 night segment (ship's capacity is about 700). They are offering a few tours in Miami tomorrow but we will be staying on board. Weather forecast is for rain and low 70's.
Here is the itinerary for our next segment. You are going to have to click on it to enlarge it to be able to read it however. I got all my excursion tickets for the next segment last evening. I went through them this afternoon and found some double bookings so took them back down to the Destination desk. On my way back to the suite I stopped at Coffee Connection and had Rommel make me an espresso. I had never had one but see many of the officers and staff drink it. Gosh, only a tablespoon or two in the little cup. High powered drink! That will keep me awake!
We call the last dinner of a segment, "The Last Supper". Always on the menu in Compass Rose on the last night is fried wiener schnitzel. We may have the salmon filet though as it is less fattening. Cocktails in Mariner Lounge and will be saying bye to some friends before dinner. They are showing the latest James Bond movie tonight in the theater and there is a "Beatles Dance Party" from 9 to 10pm in the Horizon Lounge. We will do neither.
